The benefits of VMS’s suite of vehicle management solutions include, among others:
With VMS’s Dispatch Management solutions, the decision on how tows are distributed is made by the municipality, the local law enforcement agency or the commercial client VMS contracts with. Tow companies that partner with VMS may receive allocations based on shortest response time or distance to the site of the tow request, specialized equipment needed or a tow rotation list, for example. VMS utilizes software and algorithms programmed to manage tow allocation or rotation based on our clients’ requirements, ensuring every tow company that partners with VMS is getting a fair share of requested tows objectively. As part of the Company’s Vehicle Storage Management solutions, VMS operates a number of impound or vehicle storage facilities (VSF) on behalf of its clients. For municipalities, VMS manages government-owned VSFs, providing services including vehicle intake, storage, vehicle release and unclaimed vehicle disposals. VMS can also procure impound facilities if municipal, state or law enforcement clients do not have an existing VSF.
For commercial clients, vehicles can be stored at secure lots in the cities and geographies in which the company operates at our affiliate locations. Please see www.vmsolutions.com/locations/affiliates/ for details.
VMS currently does not own any impound facilities.
VMS runs weekly and monthly unclaimed vehicle auctions both online and in-person at our affiliate locations. For more information on unclaimed vehicle auctions in the cities and locations of interest, please visit www.vmsolutions.com/locations/affiliates/ for more information.
VMS’s Vehicle Storage Management solutions includes lienholder searches and notification services using software that can batch process lien and lienholder notifications and integrate with state electronic lien and title systems where permitted. For more information about how VMS can provide lienholder notification, please contact us here or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
VMS offers Traffic Incident Management (TIM) solutions which focus on safety and rapidly clearing disabled vehicles on heavily trafficked highways to reduce road congestion and the risk of secondary incidents. According to the Federal Highway Administration, the likelihood of a secondary crash increases by 2.8% for each minute the primary incident continues to be a hazard. VMS collaborates with state departments of transportation, highway patrol, first responders and other public safety service providers to supply fleet services including fully-equipped patrol vehicles, incident response vehicles, debris-clearing technology, predictive analytics software, technicians and TIM training to clear over 170,000 incidents annually. For more information on roadside service or assistance provided by VMS through its affiliates and partners, please contact us here or at email@example.com.
Roadside assistance is primarily provided by VMS’s partner tow operators through the Company’s Dispatch Management solutions. Based on the tow operator and geographies in which they operate, roadside services may include light-, medium- and heavy-duty vehicle towing and minor repairs such as jumpstarts or tire service.
Through the company’s Traffic Incident Management solutions, VMS provides disabled vehicles on major highways with roadside assistance including tire changes, battery boosts and fuel supply. Specific services depend on each state department of transportation’s prescribed Freeway Service Patrol programs.
VMS uses a variety of industry leading software and innovative technologies to deliver the best solutions for clients’ vehicle management needs.
For Dispatch Management, VMS uses a central management application (CMA) system to centralize inbound tow requests, distribute requests to towers using fairness algorithms and locate towed vehicles for owners.
For Vehicle Storage Management, VMS utilizes applications for digital documentation and record keeping of stored vehicle inventory, electronic lien search notification processing and online auctions of unclaimed vehicles to maximize demand and sales proceeds.
For Traffic Incident Management, VMS employs predictive analytics software to determine where accidents are most likely to occur and where to deploy resources as well as proprietary technology to rapidly clear debris and move multiple vehicles at once.
